EMPLOYMENT LAW AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS
There are few other areas of law in Australia that have
undergone such radical and constant change than that of Workplace laws. We
have seen the introduction of the Fair Work Australia Act in 2009,
the Work Health and Safety Act in 2011, sexual harassment and bullying claims
seem to be on the rise.
Jennifer has acted for employers, employees, contractors and
government departments in respect of employment law issues. This diversity of
client base ensures that Jennifer’s advice is grounded in a practical, objective
and independent framework.
Jennifer has been appointed by Westpac to sit on its
Arbitration Panel as an arbitrator of employment disputes.
Jennifer delivers training programs to keep staff up-to-date
on OHS law, compliance issues, dealing with contractors and developments in
personal liability to ensure management and staff understand
safety legislation, how it works in practice and how to comply.
Jennifer has been trained in root cause analysis and is
familiar with a range of incident investigation methods. Jennifer has practical
experience with the incident investigation process. This enables Jennifer to
provide informed and critical advice on legal issues associated with these
investigations and to assist clients achieve the desired safety and risk
management outcomes arising out of investigation findings.
Jennifer has appeared in Queensland and New South Wales before
the Fair Work Tribunal, the Full Bench of the Fair Work Tribunal, and Federal
Circuit Court of Australia.
